Yorkshire Dales Wedding | Pub Wedding Venue | Flora & Luke

As one of my favourite local Yorkshire weddings that I’ve photographed, Flora & Luke were married in late January 2020 at St Oswalds Church, Thornton Steward, Wensleydale. The said their wedding vows in the cutest church in the Yorkshire Dales with stunning country views at the end of a muddy lane & with Flora booking my wedding photography services late on in 2019, I was super excited for their rural wedding with so many beautiful touches to capture in their wedding photography.

Wedding guests were taxied in Defenders by Flora's cousins through the woods, as well as the bride & her father arriving in their own wedding Defender whilst the snowdrops peeped out in the church grounds. Testimonial

“The photos are absolutely STUNNING! Thank you so much, we’re thoroughly delighted with them. Our family love them too. I haven’t stopped looking the album. The slideshow is perfect, too. Thank you so much you’ve made us all very happy and can relive the memories for years to come”  – Flora & Luke – February 2020

The church was lovingly decorated with a warm, winter theme featuring moss, candle lanterns & sheepskins by The Secret Wedding Company. They went on to party for their wedding reception at family favourite, The Blue Lion at East Witton, a true country pub with the most intimate feel.

With Flora's father as the wine merchant for the pub, and Luke's family from Ireland, there was a bit focus on wine and potatoes for the wedding breakfast! They made quite an entrance at The Blue Lion in their beautifully decorated Defender, and a bagpiper signalling their entrance which made for amazing wedding photographs and memories for years to come.

Flora & Luke were one of the few lucky couples to get married in 2020 the 'old school' way, before the pandemic hit!

I was also lucky enough to capture the wedding photographs for Flora’s sister & brother-in-law Fred, as well as for her good friends Tess & Jonti’s marquee wedding in the Lake District. If you would like to chat about booking me to photograph you wedding,  then please get in touch.
