This couldn’t resonate more with me, and always reminds me how much of a privilege it is to turn moments into memories with my camera. There are so many times when I speak to a couple after I’ve sent through their wedding gallery when they say ‘I didn’t even know that had happened’, or ‘It brought tears to my eyes to see that particular embrace, emotion or laughter.’

I use Sony A7iii mirrorless cameras –which offer benefits such as quieter shutter clicks & are very light-weight. I use mainly use prime lenses which have a fixed focal length. As my style is natural & candid, this serves well to tell the story as it’s seen. I use flash when required but find it can be quite distracting for guests so keep it to a minimum. I shoot on 2 memory cards simultaneously to reduce the risk of losing any images by card errors. I have multiple back ups of everything. I always shoot on 2 camera bodies and have several lenses.

Yep, me too guys. I’m a great behind the camera but shy & awkward in front of it! So I feel your pain. For most people, this is the first time you’ve been in front of a camera other than with family or friends, for a sustained period of time. I don’t put you in cheesy poses as then we don’t get any genuine emotion or authenticity, just Chandler Bing smiles. I will be guided by how you naturally interact with each other so you never feel not yourselves but I will make you feel at ease and looked after. I do however tell you where to stand, give you guidance, prompts & direction by talking you through each step of our time together. What looks good on camera isn’t always what comes naturally so a few pointers helps get the best for both of us. I want you to enjoy the photos and not feel awkward. I’ll be guiding you through the portraits, and for the rest of the day, you’ll hardly even know I'm there!

A second photographer as well as myself. They usually joinfrom getting ready preparations, covering one of you getting ready whilst I’m with the other half. Your second shooter usually heads off around the time you sit down for food, or before speeches as a natural break in the day. They mainly capture candid photos. I cover 90% of weddings without a second shooter and they aren’t usually necessary!

I only cover weddings in the North of England, mainly in Yorkshire and the surrounding area. I have a young family and want to be able to enjoy family time outside of my business, whilst also providing an excellent service to my couples - this means I’m able to do that by keeping my business local. I love travel and have spent many years living out of suitcases but for the next few years Yorkshire has my heart.

A big Yes Yes Yes! I don’t take any wedding photography bookings without at least having a chat beforehand, so we’ll always get to know each other beforehand, even if it’s not face to face. If you live nearby, then I’d love to meet up or I’ll see you for a couples shoot if you’d like to book one. Otherwise, we can have a Zoom call the week of the wedding for final planning.

I’ll arrive where you’re getting ready about 1.5hrs before the ceremony to capture the morning prep.. During the ceremony, is very unobtrusive. I usually keep snapping away naturally as guests chat and moments happen. I take a break when you and your guests eat. I love all of the different forms of entertainment that couples organise for parties and dancing. By this point, I’ve usually integrated myself well with the guests meaning I can get some really natural emotions from your guests. If you need longer coverage, then you can add on extra hours to your coverage.

If you would like to invite me to be a part of your day, then I really need TWO things from you guys - TIME in your wedding schedule, usually around half an hour, and TRUST – let me guide you on when, where, how is best. I’ll be steered by you as to how adventurous or creative you’d like to be with the photos, but I do like to ensure you have a range of images showcasing the two of you – these will be the ones you frame! I’ll often grab you for 5 minutes here and there to make sure we get those magical images with the right light.

A few sneak peek preview images will be available in the following week so you can share with your guests. Your full wedding online gallery will be emailed to you within 8-10 weeks of your wedding date. You can pick your favourites in the gallery, share the link with your loved one and download images digitally at no extra charge. If you’d like an heirloom album, then I’ll guide you through this process. A USB stick is also available to order if needed as well as thank you cards, prints and more, in the online store.

Yes of course! Your online gallery is integrated with my preferred print lab so you can easily buy prints from here. You’ll also have all the high resolution edited images so you can print yourselves.
