Luxury Micro-Wedding Planning Guide: How to Create a Stylish, Intimate Celebration
Featuring Sneha & David’s Peak District Celebration
When it comes to weddings, small doesn’t have to mean simple — and Sneha & David proved that beautifully with their luxe micro-wedding in the heart of the Peak District which I was lucky enough to photograph. From the heritage church ceremony with more traditional wedding photography, to a windswept couples photography session in the Peaks, followed by an intimate private drinks reception & dinner at Wildhive Callow Hall, and golden hour photos to finish as the sun set - every moment was intentional, elegant, and uniquely theirs. Here’s how they crafted a celebration that was small in numbers, but big on style, experience, and emotion.
1. The Wedding Ceremony: Intimate and Meaningful
Sneha & David exchanged vows in a charming 19th-century stone church nestled in a Derbyshire village. With only 6 close family members as guests — the wedding ceremony was quiet, heartfelt, and filled with elegant high-end neutral florals down the aisle which framed the couple beautifully for their wedding photos. Choosing a smaller guest list allowed them to focus on what mattered most: connection, presence, and the beauty of the moment. No distractions, no obligations — just meaningful promises in a personal setting. Also key to all wedding ceremonies, is allowing the professional wedding photographer to be the sole photographer, with no iphones or ipads in the professional photos from guests in the aisles.
2. Wedding Photography Couple Portraits & Luxury Transport
After the ceremony, we ventured into the Peak District for couple portraits, with groom David driving a vintage Porsche, and Sneha’s veil catching the wind, as we hiked up to the top of the crags for the best views. Hiring a professional photographer and videographer can help you to ensure that all the moments are captured effortlessly with creative ideas from your wedding photographer that you don’t have to think about. Their expertise will mean you can enjoy the day fully and capture memories for years to come without relying on your guests for photos, or someone always being missing from the shots.
3. Lawn Games at Callow Hall
As we arrived at Wildhove Callow Hall, a luxury country house hotel surrounded by ancient woodland and rolling hills, guests gathered on the lawns. With champagne in hand, the afternoon unfolded slowly under the summer sun as I photographed the two families getting to know one another. Lawn games like croquet, boules, and giant Jenga offered light-hearted fun . The atmosphere was relaxed, warm, and full of personality — a reflection of Sneha & David themselves.

4. Private Dining: A Candlelit Feast at Callow Hall
Rather than a traditional reception, Sneha & David opted for a private dining experience in the Dovedale Room — a stunning boutique hotel just outside Ashbourne, where luxury meets countryside calm. The private room was styled with taper candles, mossy greens, velvet textures, and bespoke stationery. It felt more like a beautifully curated dinner party than a wedding — warm, refined, and deeply personal.
A seasonal tasting menu and hand-picked wine pairings gave guests a culinary experience to remember. Instead of speeches, there were toasts from the heart, spontaneous laughter, and the kind of conversations that only happen in smaller, more meaningful gatherings.
5. Luxury, Redefined
Sneha & David’s micro-wedding redefined what luxury can look like. It wasn’t about grandeur — it was about experience & all the little details. About space to breathe with a relaxed timeline which wasn’t rushing from one thing to the next or about fitting in the usual wedding traditions. About allowing every detail to mean something. From the styling to the setting to the rhythm of the day, everything was designed with intention and soul.
